A fundamental mistake we all tend to make?
To not listen.
This weekend I was exposed.
As my wife and I walked along with the kids, she asked me what I thought our Nanny’s work commitments would be when she came to Mexico with us next March.
…………She’s coming with us???
Ugh. Too late. It had already slipped out.
How can you not know this???
I’ve told you three times at least.
Now imagine all the problems, stresses, and arguments that could be solved by listening.
Listening with a deep curiosity.
When a relationship begins, we are usually expert deep listeners.
We are totally present with the other person.
We are completely curious about the other person.
Imagine what it would be like to be curious or completely interested in how another person sees the world.
That is where the magic of connection exists.
So here’s my challenge to you (and myself)
Listen with a fascinated curiosity and see where it gets you.
